Skilled Worker Visa Documents Checklist
When applying for a Skilled Worker visa, you'll need to provide the following key documents:

Essential Documents:
Certificate of Sponsorship Reference Number:
Obtain this reference number from your employer, as it is essential for your visa application.
Proof of English Language Proficiency:
You must demonstrate your knowledge of English, typically through a recognised language test or other approved evidence.
Valid Passport or Identity Document:
Provide a passport or an alternative document that verifies your identity and nationality.
Job Details:
Supply information about your job title and annual salary, including your job’s occupation code.
Employer Details:
Provide the name of your employer and their sponsor's licence number, which will be listed on your certificate of sponsorship. If you have not received your certificate of sponsorship, request a copy from your employer.
Depending on your specific situation, you might be required to provide the following additional documents:
Evidence of Financial Means
If your certificate of sponsorship does not confirm that your employer will support you, you must show evidence of sufficient personal savings. Bank statements can be used for this purpose.
Proof of Relationship
If your partner or children are applying with you, you will need to provide documentation that confirms your relationship with them.
Tuberculosis Test Results
If you are applying from a country on the tuberculosis (TB) testing list, you will need to present a valid TB test certificate.
Criminal Record Certificate

ATAS Certificate

PhD Certificate or Ecctis Reference Number
If your qualification is from outside the UK, you will need to provide your UK PhD certificate or your unique Ecctis reference number (formerly UK NARIC reference number). Apply through Ecctis if required.
Passport Requirements
Ensure you have a blank page in your passport for the visa if you are:
- From outside the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein.
- From the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein but do not possess a biometric passport with a chip.

If you have lived in more than one country, you might need to provide a criminal record certificate from each country, depending on your age and length of stay:

- Under 28: Certificate from any country where you have stayed for a total of 12 months or more since you turned 18.
- 28 or Over: Certificate from any country where you have resided over the past 10 years.
