UK Study Visa Application Process – Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: University Application & CAS
Apply to UK universities through UCAS or directly to institutions for your chosen course. Once you receive an unconditional offer letter, pay the required deposit to secure your place. Your institution will then issue a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which is mandatory for your visa application.
Step 2: Document Preparation
Gather all necessary documentation including financial documents that demonstrate adequate funds held for 28 consecutive days. Complete mandatory health requirements including TB testing for Indian applicants. Satisfy English language proficiency through approved tests like IELTS, PTE Academic, or equivalent qualifications.
Step 3: Online Application
Complete the comprehensive visa application form on the official UK government website. Pay both visa application fees and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for your study duration. Book your biometric appointment at the nearest VFS Global application center through the system.
Step 4: Biometric Appointment
Attend your scheduled VFS Global centre appointment to provide biometric data including fingerprints and photographs. Submit all supporting documents which will be reviewed by UK Visas and Immigration. Arrive punctually with all required documents properly organised and readily accessible.
Step 5: Decision & Collection
Your application enters processing where UK immigration officials review your submission against eligibility criteria. Receive email notifications regarding application status throughout the process. Upon approval, collect your passport containing the visa vignette from the designated center.
Step 6: Travel Preparation
